Write for us

We would LOVE to hear your story! We do accept article submissions but ask that you adhere to our guidelines when submitting your story/article.

All articles accepted for publication will have the following focus:

Proverbs 3:4,5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

  • How can we encourage our readers to make their paths straight with God?
  • How can we assist them to gain Godly wisdom?

This does not mean the above verse needs to be quoted in your piece, but it is the criteria by which each article will be judged. How will the piece enable our readers to live this way?

We also need to plenty of ‘how-to’ points, so readers can access the content easily in our time-poor world.

Christian Woman is cross-denominational, and distributed free through various Christian book stores across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. PLUS our online edition extends to the ends of the earth (literally), so your article may well minister, in Christ’s name, to women everywhere.

Some topics to consider

  • Faith
  • Parenting/family
  • Character Building
  • Missions
  • Relationships
  • Profiles (business women, inspiring women, women in leadership, women of influence etc.)
  • Personal stories (life changing moment, lessons learned, etc.)
  • Social media
  • Spiritual growth/bible studies
  • Questions and answers (real life questions, such as “My husband is not a Christian and is encouraging our children not to go to church. What should I do?” Answer…”)

Literary Style

  1. Keep sentences short, preferably ten to 12 words.
  2. Limit the subject matter to one idea per paragraph. If new or different material has to be introduced, begin a new paragraph.
  3. Paragraphs should be neither too short nor too long. Three to five sentences are best. Since a paragraph states an idea, then develops it, a single sentence is not a paragraph.
  4. Sentences may begin with the words, “But”, or, “And”, but such constructions should be used sparingly.
  5. Do not use a long word when a short one will do.
  6. Capitals should be used for: Bible and Christian. Do not use capitals for pronouns that refer to the Godhead (he, his, who) unless quoting from a version of the Bible which capitalises such pronouns. If in doubt, do not capitalise.
  7. The numbers one to ten are spelt out. Numbers over ten are left in figures, that is, 103.
  8. Please use only single spaces between sentences and do not indent paragraphs.

Biblical Quotations…

  1. Quotations of verses should be taken from the New International Version of the Bible. Quote the portion exactly as it appears, including the wording, punctuation and capitalisation as given.
  2. Use double inverted commas to separate the quotation from the rest of the text. Eg Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23).
  3. Use an ellipsis ( . . .) to indicate omitted words or phrases.
  4. Eg Let us all “ . . . grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ” (Eph 4:15).
  5. Bible references should appear in brackets, with the name of the book abbreviated and a colon between chapter and verse. Separate two or more references with a semicolon. Eg (Rom 3:23) (Isa 9:11-15,25-28) (Jn 10:10; Mat 3:18)
  6. Should a version other than the NIV be used, cite that version following the reference. Eg “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (Jn 14:15, RSV).
